Wasim Akram highlights where Pakistan lagged behind India
Pakistan and India have always been responsible to produce high quality and entertaining cricket. While Pakistan has an upper hand against India in both Tests and ODIs, the situation isn’t encouraging for the green team. It is so because India clearly looked a far better side whenever the two teams met in recent times.
Recently, former Pakistan great Wasim Akram became a part of the debate as he highlighted the reason regarding Pakistan lagging behind India. He firmly believes that India was able to scale heights of success by investing in their first-class structure. Wasim added that from pay structure to bringing in thorough professionals, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did all they could for making a strong nursery for cricketers.
On the other hand, he spoke about Pakistan by stating that a lot of cricket board’s leaders looked after short-term goals without inspecting the issues in the roots. While Pakistan recently modified their first-class structure, but the cricketer turned expert clarified that a period of 3 to 4 years would be needed to see the results. Saying that, he concluded by adding that Pakistan will have to form an extremely competitive first-class structure to become a top team of the cricketing world.
