ECB to set rules for the cricket during the pandemic

England cricket board (ECB) is trying to figure out possible solutions in making the series between England vs West Indies and England vs Pakistan possible in July. For this, ECB is determined to undergo some change of plan.

The English cricketers will begin their outdoor training from the next week, however, each player will have an option to opt-out. "All athletes and support staff should be engaged in a 1:1 check-in prior to the resumption of organized step one training to ensure they have understood the sport-specific risks and mitigations, training site protocols in place, players are physically and mentally well enough to engage in return to training and have actively 'opted in' to engaging in step one return to training" - the protocol document states.

Apart from this, ECB is chalking out plans to prepare a bio-secure environment for cricket in July. The venues will be specially prepared to achieve this goal. Moreover, the series will be expected to play behind the closed doors.
