Pakistan rule the charts for successful DRS use
The introduction of the Decision Review System (DRS) has considerably changed the dynamics of the sport with umpires being held accountable for any erroneous decisions on the spot by players, unlike the olden days.
With the use of DRS limited per innings, teams have to be more diligent in choosing when to review an obviously horrendous error from the on-field umpire. In terms of this sharp judgment, data reveals that Pakistan have been the Test side to have this figured out over the last three years.
For all reviews taken during Test matches since September 2017, Pakistan have the highest success rate in overturning umpires’ verdict. They have managed to prove the umpire wrong on 36 out of 104 occasions (34.6%) while the second-best during this period is England with 32.4%. The worst in this regard is Sri Lanka, who have gotten only 23.3% successful reviews
