Sourav Ganguly to hand over Eden Gardens for quarantine facilities
The president of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly, is ready to provide the facilities of the Eden Gardens Cricket Stadium Kolkata to the state government amidst the global health crisis. Ganguly said that he will do everything which he can in order to assist the government.
Eden Gardens is one of the iconic cricket stadiums in India and can serve as a quarantine center. “If government asks us, we will certainly hand over the facility. Anything that is need of the hour, we will do it. There is absolutely no problem,” Ganguly told the local news network.
Currently in India, the COVID-19 patients are just numbered over 500 and the prime minister has announced a 21-Day country-wide lockdown. In this situation, any help from the cricket fraternity will also be of great use.
