Worn-out Pakistan seeks resurgence as Test cricket returns home
After a horrific outing in Australia, the men in Green are all set to regain their form in the Test series against Sri Lanka at home. Pakistan had a tough time playing in Australia as they lost 2-0 to the hosts. The inexperience in the Pakistani Test side was clearly visible during the 2-match Test series.
Now as the Test cricket is returning home after almost a decade, Azhar Ali and company would like to do well in front of the home crowd. This will be a great incentive for young Pakistani players to perform. Misbah-ul-Haq and team management will look to make slight changes in the Test side.
Remember, Sri Lanka white-washed Pakistan in the T20I series at their own backyard. Therefore, Pakistan cannot afford to take them lightly. Talking about Pakistan’s probable squad, Fawad Alam is expected to make a comeback in Pakistan’s Test side providing them with stability in the middle.
Naseem Shah and Musa Khan will be given rest and PCB will look for experience in the fast bowling ranks. Yasir Shah and Kashif Bhatti might be leading the spin department with Bilal Asif the other man around.
Haris Sohail, Azhar Ali, and Imam-ul-Haq will look to regain their form with the bat in hand whereas Babar Azam will be the key batsman for Pakistan in this series. The two teams will clash in the 2-match Test series scheduled in Rawalpindi and Karachi starting from 11th December 2019.
