Mohammad Shahzad spurns rumors regarding quitting cricket
Afghanistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad has discarded all the reports of him quitting playing for Afghanistan. The explosive cricketer is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where he is participating in the ongoing edition of the T10 League, but his sights are set on donning Afghan’s national jersey.
Shahzad reiterated his love for Afghanistan as he was thrown out of the World Cup squad stating that the 32-year old doesn’t have the required fitness standards. Moreover, he was suspended for breaching the code of conduct by playing and training in Pakistan. This incident led him to share his frustration openly in media, but now he cleared his position.
“As long as I am alive, I want to play for Afghanistan. My main focus lies on making a comeback for my national team. It is because Afghanistan has a team that I am here. If not, who knows where I would have been,” said by Shahzad while sharing his endearment for his national team.
