Afghanistan coach excited for future of Test team

The Afghanistan cricket team has had an interesting couple of months recently as it has been surrounded by numerous off-field controversies while at the other hand, it has registered its first ever Test win against Bangladesh and has also done remarkably well against top sides.

The Interim head coach of the Afghanistan team and the Chairman of selectors, Andy Coles has been really pleased with the progress of the team so far at the international level as he feels that such performances would only help in boosting the confidence of the team.

“This Test victory was huge not just because it was a Test match win, but because it has given us the self-belief. Bangladesh is a very difficult place to come and win. Whenever I talked to the players, I tried to make the players understand and accept the importance of doing the basics for longer. We are going to do the boring stuff for longer, we are going to block the ball, and we've got to understand during the batting that we needed that time,” he added.
