The Indian cricket team has suffered a major blow in their batting department as in-form opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of action for 3 weeks after fracturing his thumb during the game against Australia.

Although, the management has not sought any replacement for the time being, but former English batsman Kevin Pietersen has urged the team management to include young Rishabh Pant in the squad to cover up for Dhawan.

The former Test cricketer believes that India must bring in Pant as the specialist number 4 batsman and KL Rahul should replace the injured Dhawan as he has opened in the past as well and is in good nick at the top of the order.
