Dean Jones tears up while defending Asif Ali
Islamabad United have been knocked out of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 4 after suffering a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Peshawar Zalmi in Karachi. The latter ended up winning with 48 runs after their batsmen propelled the score to 214 against the quality attack of Islamabad.
Asif Ali, who was recently dropped from the Pakistan side, has been under serious pressure to perform in recent times but he has not been able to produce clinical performances for the national side like he does in the PSL. Recently, it was revealed that Asif’s young daughter is suffering from cancer and she has been seriously ill for quite a while now.
After the game, Islamabad head coach Dean Jones broke down in tears while talking about Asif Ali and the things he has had to deal with in recent times. He urged the journalists to be wary of something the other person might be going through as he said that Asif is a good kid who has just had a lot on his plate recently.
