One member of Pakistan's touring party tests positive for coronavirus
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that one player in the announced squad for South Africa and Zimbabwe tour has tested positive for Covid-19.
A total of 35 members were conducted on Wednesday according to the PCB.
“All squad members have tested negative, except for one player,” the PCB said in a statement.
The board made it clear that those players who cleared the test will join the training camp set for the upcoming series.
“Those who have tested negative will now assemble in Lahore on Thursday, 18 March, for the training camp, which will commence at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday,” the statement added.
The name of the player who has tested positive has not been revealed but he will join the training camp once he returns a negative test.
“The player who has tested positive will undergo a repeat test on Thursday at his residence,” the statement said.
“If he tests negative, only then he will be eligible to travel to Lahore where he will remain in isolation for two more days before being retested.”
Pakistan will play three ODIs and four T20Is against South Africa in early April after which the team will depart for Zimbabwe to play two Tests and three T20Is.
