Sri Lanka camp: Mickey Arthur, Lahiru Thirimanne test positive for Covid-19
Sri Lanka head coach Mickey Arthur and senior batsman Lahiru Thirimanne have tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the team's upcoming tour of West Indies.
The Covid-19 infections were confirmed following the PCR tests carried out on the 36-member provisional squad along with the coaching staff, net bowlers and the High Performance Centre staff on Tuesday.
Both Arthur and Thirimanne have been directed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to follow the country's health protocols laid out regarding the virus.
The outbreak of Covid-19 in the Sri Lanka camp has prompted SLC to consider the possibility of rescheduling the West Indies tour, which is set to commence on February 20. The tour comprises of six white-ball clashes and two Test matches but Sri Lanka are looking at moving the series ahead given the current circumstances.
