Sultans, Kings share points after rain forces match to be called off
Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans shared a point each as rain forced the game to be abandoned in Lahore.
Put in to bat first, Multan Sultans were put under serious pressure by Karachi’s bowlers. Zeeshan Ashraf was the first one to depart when tried to clear the infield but miscued his shot to Chris Jordan at mid-off.
Aamer Yamin then accounted for Moeen Ali, who miscued a flat bat shot once again to mid-off.
Soon after, Karachi’s spinners applied the pressure on Multan Sultans and stopped the run flow. The track at Gaddafi Stadium appeared to be on the slower side and as a result, batsmen were finding hard to adjust and score freely.
Shahid Afridi took the attack after settling in with a couple of dot balls at the start. He smashed two sixes in Mitchell McClenaghan’s over to get the scoreboard ticking.
In the 17th over, rain started pouring down at a faster pace which forced the players to go off the field. It continued to spoil the party and an official announcement was made to call off the game.
