PCB reschedule one-off ODI against Bangladesh in Karachi

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) request to reschedule the one-off ODI in Karachi next month.

The match, originally planned to take place on April 3, has now been shifted to April 1 at the same venue with the touring party now scheduled to arrive in Pakistan on March 29.

The dates have been advanced in order to allow Bangladesh ample time to prepare ahead of their second World Test Championship Test on April 5. The Mominul Haque-led side is already trailing 0-1 in the two-match series and have thus far been unable to register a single point on the Test Championship table.

On the other hand, Pakistan are ranked fifth out of the nine participants and can increase their tally to a voluminous sum of 200 points if they triumph over Bangladesh.

According to the itinerary revealed by the PCB, both the ODI and the Test match will be conducted at the National Stadium, Karachi.

“The PCB is always happy to facilitate wherever it can and will be delighted to host the Bangladesh men’s national team for additional days in Karachi," said Zakir Khan, PCB Director International Cricket.

"There is already a lot of excitement and buzz about the upcoming international matches and the PCB expects the quality of cricket will live up to the expectations of the fans and followers.”

This is the final phase of the three-leg Bangladesh tour of Pakistan, which began with the T20I encounters in Lahore at the end of January.

The updated schedule is as follows:

29 March – Bangladesh team’s arrival

30-31 March – Practice

1 April – One-off ODI in Karachi

2-4 April – Practice

5-9 April – Second Test in Karachi
