Ball-by-ball details & scorecard: Adelaide Strikers v Perth Scorchers - Match 54 - Adelaide

Adelaide Strikers ended their Big Bash campaign on a high after they edged Perth Scorchers by five wickets in their final game of the Big Bash League Adelaide Oval.

Scorchers opener Josh Inglis (55 off 37) put on a masterclass with the bat scoring his first half century for the Scorchers, which included seven boundaries.

He was aptly supported by skipper Mitch Marsh who struck an unbeaten half-century.

Nathan Coulter-Nile produced an extraordinary quick fire of 25 runs off just eight deliveries, featuring three sixes and a four to help the visitors to a competitive total of 174.

Matt Kelly and AJ Tye made their presence known early, the pair taking the big scalps of Strikers’ openers Jake Weatherald and Alex Carey respectively, in successive overs during the power play.

Coulter-Nile produced an impressive spell with the ball, returning 2-28 off his four overs, but it wasn’t enough to impel the Scorchers to victory.

Jonathan wells (69 off 42) and Harry Nielsen (44 off 29) had other plans as the pair added 88 from 55 balls.

Wells was undone by a slower ball which was dragged on by Wells but Nielsen was well settled to power his side to a comfortable five-wicket win.
