That's the end of that, a disappointing end for Blundell as he skews one he should've smashed. Boult won't come out to bat due to his broken hand so that is victory for the hosts. Australia have beaten New Zealand by 247 runs in Melbourne to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The hosts got ahead in the contest thanks to a quality century from eventual Player of the Match Travis Head, along with a trio of handy half centuries to help them to an imposing first innings total. In response, the Black Caps were blown away by the incredible Pat Cummins leaving the result all but certain. Tom Blundell made a superb ton to defy the Aussies today however he couldn't take the Kiwis to Day Five, despite their fantastic support in the stands. Special mention also to James Pattinson who was fired up in both innings on his return to the side, bowling some ferocious spells on his home ground. So Australia win the Boxing Day Test comfortably, New Zealand will just be playing for World Test Championship points at the SCG in the New Year. Join us then.
