South Africa chased down the 148-run target in 36.4 overs for the loss of two wickets. Opener Wolvaardt led the chase with her 13th ODI half-century while her opening partner made Lizelle Lee made 40 off 43; the duo adding 76 runs for the first wicket. After Steyn’s dismissal at the total of 97, Wolvaardt added 51 runs for the unbroken third wicket partnership with captain Sune Luus (21 off 41) to see their side home.

Umaima Sohail and Sana Mir took a wicket each for the visitors. Sana Mir joined the duo of Anisa Mohammed and Lisa Sthalekar at 146 wickets: most by spinners in women's ODI cricket. Mir reached the milestone when she removed Andrie Steyn (9 off 27).

Earlier, Pakistan were bowled out for 147 in 42 overs. The last six wickets fell for just six runs as Klaas ripped apart Pakistan's lower order. Nahida Khan (37) and Sidra Amin (25) had provided a 50-run opening stand to the visitors.

Captain Bismah Maroof (32 off 49) and Aliya Riaz (17 off 46 balls) took the score to 141, adding 42 runs for the fifth wicket before the stunning collapse saw them lose six wickets for just six runs.

Player of the match Klaas dismissed Aliya, Umaima Sohail (5) and Sidra Nawaz (0) off successive deliveries to complete her hat-trick in the 39th over to peg Pakistan back.

Klaas finished with the figures of 3-27 while Tumi Sekhukhune and Luus took two wickets each.
