Hobart Hurricanes have secured a home semi-final with a comfortable 16 run victory over Melbourne Renegades at Blundstone Arena. Matt Wade and D'Arcy Short got the hosts off to a typically explosive start and from there they always looked in control of the contest. Whenever the Renegades looked like they might be able to mount a fight back, the table-topping Hurricanes found a way to shut them out. Riley Meredith sprayed the ball around early in the chase, but then Qais Ahmad and D'Arcy Short put the squeeze on before Jofra Archer expertly finished the job. The BBL action resumes tomorrow with a crucial game at the Gabba, the Heat taking on the Stars.
