Perth Scorchers have secured a consolation victory over Melbourne Stars, winning by 27 runs at Optus Stadium to give Michael Klinger the perfect send off. The hosts were pretty confident at the halfway stage after Ashton Turner's explosive 69 launched them to 182/3, but the nerves will have been jangling when Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis were forming a brutal partnership in response. Andrew Tye provided the turning point by dismissing Maxwell to spark a collapse from the visitors, meaning the Stars still need a victory to confirm their semi-final spot. There is a few days off from the BBL action, the mayhem resumes on Thursday when the Hurricanes host the Renegades in Hobart.
