Melbourne Stars won by 6 wickets
BALL BY BALL
Melbourne Stars have secured local bragging rights by beating Melbourne Renegades by 6 wickets at Marvel Stadium. On a slow surface tricky for strokeplay, the Stars bowlers quickly assessed conditions and were backed up by some sensational fielding. The hosts made 121 all out with no batsman able to score more than 28, as Jackson Bird and Marcus Stoinis enjoyed their bowling spells. In the response, Stoinis played the defining knock of the match and anchored the chase expertly with an unbeaten 70. He always looked in control and was able to find the boundary when needed to give the Stars a crucial two points. We'll be back at the SCG tomorrow for more BBL action as the Sixers host the Heat. .
