Player Of The Match
19.1 - S Rainbird to S Milenko
Length ball, to leg backing away driving, well timed in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. Hobart Hurricanes have pulled off a miraculous run chase at the Blundstone Arena to defeat Sydney Thunder by 7 wickets with 5 balls to spare. At the halfway point it looked like it would be a tough prospect for the hosts as Jos Buttler continued his sensational form to strike a rapid 89. The men in purple were sloppy in the field but quickly put that behind them as D'Arcy Short (58) and Matt Wade (85) put on 120 for the first wicket. The two left-handers were brutal against the pace bowlers and sensible against the spinners, laying the foundation for skipper George Bailey to finish the job as the visiting bowlers struggled with the dew. That means the Hurricanes maintain their perfect start to the season, while the Thunder suffer their first defeat of the campaign. That was a great night of entertainment in Hobart, we'll be back tomorrow with more of the same from Melbourne.
